Naked cake love.

 Hello everyone. I'm back.

I have been away on a lovely little trip, while dear hubby took our son skiing. I thought it was time to bundle my girls up, drive over the mountain and visit  grandparents. How wonderful to be spoilt with hugs, warm fires, delicious home cooked meals and lavished with  all of the love and nurture that only your parents can give ......ahhh. It was a time of refreshment and relaxation. Just what every Mama needs now and then. I was even able to sleep in!!! What a concept....sigh...

ANYWAY.....back home now and busting to share this glorious naked cake with you all. A sweet little lady in our church was turning 80, so of course I put my hand up to make her cake.

I love naked cakes. They are simply gorgeous. Full of rustic charm, yet elegant enough to be dressed up for a show stopping wedding cake. They are the perfect blank canvas. Abundantly covered  in cottage garden flowers, this cake is bursting with colour and beauty.

The top cake is  white chocolate mud, while also keeping with the floral theme, I  chose a lavender and vanilla bean layer cake for the bottom tier. The edible lavender is infused in milk overnight before being strained and added to the cake mixture. Yum.

Enjoy!
